The U15 rugby team are through to the Last 16 of the Natwest Vase after a thrilling 14-10 win against Nottingham High School.

King’s, wearing their new warm up tops kindly sponsored by Bird and Co. started brightly. They pinned to the Nottingham High team deep in their own 22 for a long period of time, but the Nottingham defence stood strong.  King’s eventually broke the deadlock through G. Conron who picked the ball up from the base of a ruck and ran in under the posts from 20m out. King’s almost extended their lead moments later when S. Gilbert burst through the Nottingham High defensive line before eventually being tackle just inches short of the try line. Nottingham High slowly grew into the game, playing some expansive rugby and were eventually rewarded just before half time with a try of their own. The score at the half was 7-5 to King's. King's went on the attack again after the break, this time through the driving maul at the lineout. After one failed attempt, King’s finally managed to push it over, J. Simpson the man emerging with the ball. The try was converted by B. Taylor. Nottingham High were not going down without a fight and struck back with an unconverted try of their own to set up a tense final 10 minutes. King’s defended stoutly, pushing back the sustained Nottingham High pressure. With little time left, Kings eventually forced a turnover and kicked the ball off the park to seal their place in the last 16.
