    Terms 5-6

    Ecosystems

    Students learn about:

Describing the factors and components of an ecosystem, feeding relationships with food chains and webs, pyramids of number and biomass, fieldwork and environmental problems.

    The Earth and atmosphere

    Students learn about:

The structure of the Earth, formation of sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic rocks, weathering and erosion, biofuels and the effect of carbon dioxide levels on the atmosphere.

    Space

    Students learn about:

The structure of our Solar System and its place within the Universe, using models to explain day and night, seasons, phases of the Moon and eclipses.

    Science project

Students will complete a science-based research project after their end of year exam and will present their findings to the rest of their class at the end.
