About the School

King’s is a thriving school, rooted in a rich history but looking to the future with eagerness and preparing students to meet a future characterised by rapid change. The school, now a fully selective Academy Grammar School, prides itself on being part of the wider Grantham community.composite boys staff in greyscale
Students are encouraged to participate fully in the life of the school and to be active in the community for the good of others.

We seek success at the highest level – in the classroom, on the sports field, through entrepreneurial opportunity and through artistic and dramatic activities. As a grammar school we have a clear aim: to maximise the potential of every student within a supportive environment. King’s is committed to raising educational standards and developing students’ skills and expertise, engaging with the community and sharing good practice with
other schools.

The school traces its history back to 1329 when the first teacher was appointed. In 1528 the school was re-endowed by Bishop Foxe of Winchester who also founded Corpus Christi College, Oxford.
