Students at Key stage 3 are expected to embrace a wide experience of art and design that will develop their handling skills in a variety of media, building knowledge and understanding, in the purpose and meaning of the creative activity.
Key dates in the art department calendar include the annual exhibitions of examination work and the art study tour which has included a trip to New York, and the annual visit to London galleries. Integral to students making artwork is the developing awareness and understanding of looking at art and making informed judgements and opinions about what they see.
