PSHE Curriculum

Head of Department: Miss Kassie Leek

Curriculum Intent

The PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic) curriculum is designed to give students the knowledge, skills, and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe and to prepare for life and work in modern Britain. PSHE ensures that every boy has knowledge on how to be safe, how to make a positive contribution, how to achieve economic well-being and how to live a healthy life. PSHE is split into six different themes: Relationships and Sex Education (RSE), Health, Economic Education, Careers, Society and Future aspirations. These themes are covered in different terms throughout the academic year.

Our PSHE curriculum is delivered by tutors during two form periods each week following an agreed timetable.  Senior Leaders, Heads of Year and outside speakers enhance the PSHE curriculum during weekly year group assemblies.  British Values are also embedded within the House assembly schedule.  In addition, we have a programme of external talks and workshops led by outside facilitators to complement the PSHE curriculum.
