Teacher of Business MPS/UPS

Due to promotion of the current post holder, we are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Business. This role would suit an experienced teacher wishing to further develop their career or a committed ECT looking to get their career off to a good start.  A full induction and CPD support programme will be made available to the successful candidate.

Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and as this post is considered to be ‘regulated activity’, a check through the Disclosure and Barring Service including the children’s barred list.

Successful applicants must be familiar with, and comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, child protection and promote the welfare of students.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules, see https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/dbs-filtering-guidance) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.

A detailed job description and person specification along with Departmental information is available to download below or, alternatively, can be obtained directly from the School..

The start date for this position is September 2022.

In our most recent OFSTED inspection, The King’s School was judged as outstanding. As such, our all boys’ grammar school – with a cohort of approximately 1,200 students – is very popular and is often over-subscribed.

To be considered for this post, please complete a formal application document and forward this via email to HR@kings.lincs.sch.uk. An application form can be downloaded here.

The King’s School, Brook Street, Grantham, Lincolnshire, NG31 6RP. Tel: 01476 563180

Closing date for applications: 9am, Thursday 19 May 2022

Whilst a closing date for applications has been set, we reserve the right to interview and appoint a suitable candidate prior.  This being the case we would encourage early applications for the post. The initial selection of candidates will take place on a remote basis.  It is hoped that final panel interviews will take place on the school site, current restrictions allowing.  Please note that feedback will only be provided to candidates whose applications progress to the interview stage.
