Curriculum Intent

The Personal Development Curriculum (PDC) forms the schools PHSE programme which is delivered to all boys in Year 7- 11. Our curriculum is designed to give students the knowledge, skills, and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe and to prepare them for life and work in modern Britain. PDC ensures that every boy has the knowledge on how to be safe, how to make a positive contribution, how to achieve economic well-being and how to live healthy lives. PDC is split into six different themes which include: Sex and Relationships, Health, Economic Education, Careers, Society and Future aspirations. These themes are covered in different terms throughout the academic year.

Our PDC curriculum is delivered by Heads of Year in assemblies once a week and by form tutors in tutor time once a week and in house assemblies. Supporting this each of the key themes is delivered by an outside agency and each year group has a dedicated session with an external expert.
