Exceptional progress of students at GCSE

More than 98 per cent of pupils have achieved five or more standard passes including English and Mathematics in yet another outstanding set of GCSE results.

More than 83 per cent gained five or more strong passes including English and Mathematics.

In another strong performance for the School, four in every 10 of all grades were 7 and above and three in 10 students achieved the new exceptional top grade of 9.

As a result of the exceptional progress of pupils the school is predicted to be amongst the top schools in the country once again.

Headmaster Simon Pickett said he was thrilled that, despite significant turbulence in the educational landscape, the school continues its record of consistently high achievement.

“We, here at King’s, are very pleased with yet another strong set of results, particularly given the changing landscape of GCSE examinations,” he said.

“Once again the staff and students have done themselves, and the school, proud with achievements exceeding even our high expectations.

“I’m really pleased for the students and with the school’s consistently good performance. The boys and their families should be elated and I know that I and the staff are delighted with their efforts and wish them all the best for the future.”
