The New Starters Evening will be held on Monday 6 July 2026 from 6.00pm. Six volunteers will be needed to support the event, with helpers required at school from 5.30pm. Donna and Paula confirmed that they are available to help.

Action: Tamsin to send a message to the wider committee to confirm who else is available.

The SumUp machine and a float will also be required for the evening.

Action: Benita/Jo to arrange the SumUp machine and float.

It was also discussed that posters should be printed to promote the Autumn PTFA Ball and support ticket sales at the New Starters Evening.

Action: Amy M to design a poster in time for the evening. Simon to ensure that online Ball tickets are available to purchase on the night.

Marketing and social media

Amy reported that the PTFA is continuing to gain new followers on both Facebook and Instagram.

Her next focus will be promoting the Autumn PTFA Ball, for which she will require suitable photos. There is a selection from previous newsletters.

Funding Request(s)

Both funding requests were approved by those present at the meeting (8). A further 6 members also approved on the committee WhatsApp group.

  • French debating club - catering costs, £275

  • The library - spinner for books, £478.80.

The PTFA has previously subsidised the cost of an additional Alton Towers bus and the House Activity Day, where there was a shortfall from voluntary parental contributions. The PTFA will continue to cover the cost of the additional Alton Towers bus (if required) and House Activity Day where parental contributions fall short.

PFTA Ball

The following 2026 ticket prices were proposed and agreed by the Chair, Elli Dean:

  • £50 per person
  • £95 for two tickets (£47.50 per person)
  • £370 for a table of eight (£46.25 per person)

The proposed timing is 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start. The dress code will be lounge suit or black tie.

The committee will need to gather raffle prizes. Last year, Kerry created a spreadsheet of companies that had been approached, and it was agreed that this would be the best starting point to avoid duplication.

Action: Bev to find the raffle prizes spreadsheet. Simon to ask Gracie for help, as she did a fantastic job securing raffle prizes for Jazz Nite.

It was agreed that another member of the PTFA should have access to the Galabid platform. Simon currently has access, as does Elli Dean. During the meeting, Simon invited Jo Chatterton to have admin access.
